This clamp forms the basis of an entire system so powerful and flexible
it is impossible to properly describe in this small space. First, the
physical construction: the clamp's body is a magnificent casting, lightweight
but reinforced at critical points. It is coated with a durable jet-black
matte finish which resists scratches and fingerprints and minimizes reflections.
The massive jaws will fiercely grip flat or round objects from 1/4"
to 3 1/8" yet leave no damage, thanks to the protective hard-rubber
tread which is riveted in place. The clamp features an oversize tension
knob which spins into place. Just grip and spin to the desired clamping
tension. The clamp can easily support loads of 20 pounds or more. Ok,
so it's a big beautiful clamp, but what can you do with it? Ah, now that's
the magic. The clamp has dual 5/8" receptacles into which you can
mount plates, pins, arms, adapters... you name it. Want to hang a light
off the edge of a door? No problem; why not add a camcorder for good measure,
